Paying for Treatment

Payment Options

We understand that treatment costs are one of your primary concerns. First Step House is committed to serving all patients regardless of ability to pay. We do our best to remove financial barriers to treatment. We offer some of the lowest treatment costs in the nation and collaborate with civic and private organizations that provide funding assistance for those with little or no income on a sliding-scale fee scheduled (based on income and family size). These include Medicaid, Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Services, Medicare, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Contact our admissions office to see if you qualify for our variety of funding options.

Financial Assistance

Most clients at First Step House receive funding through Medicaid, Salt Lake County Behavioral Health Services, Medicare, or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Clients who do not have Medicaid, VA, or County benefits pay for treatment themselves or are funded by family, church, or another private payer. Medicaid, Medicare, and private health insurance usually cover all or most outpatient treatment costs.
