First Step House is hiring a full time, fully licensed Program Manager for our CHARTER program!!!

The CHARTER Program Manager is responsible for overseeing Permanent Supportive Housing Program, CHARTER, which is an acronym for Community Housing and Assertive Response for Treatment Enhanced Recovery. This program provides housing and intensive case management or case management coordination for individuals who may be suffering from severe or persistent mental illness. Residents of the CHARTER program may receive services from CHARTER staff or from outside providers. The CHARTER Program Manager is responsible for overseeing model implementation, evidence-based practice implementation, and providing leadership for the entire CHARTER team. The Program Manager will be responsible for program outcomes, which include providing evidence-based services, helping participants maintain housing, attain the skills necessary to maintain the activities of daily living, build social support, and gain or regain a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives.

The CHARTER Program Manager assists the Clinical and Clinical Operations Directors in other administrative tasks and works in concert with the priorities of the Senior Management Team, the Executive Director, and the Board of Directors. Strong interpersonal boundaries and a clear understanding of ethical responsibilities are a necessity for this position. The CHARTER Program Manager supports the clinical team by performing oversight, administrative, coaching, supporting, and corrective responsibilities. The overall goals of this position are to (a) provide high-quality care for clients and team members, (b) provide a high level of customer service for funders, clients, and other stakeholders, and (c) perform management responsibilities to support the clinical and administrative teams.

Salary: $87,000 – $94,000 per year

Flexible schedule: 4 days | 9 hours

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for understanding and demonstrating outward mindset in work duties and interactions.
  • Manages clinical service delivery.
  • Ensures that evidence-based practices are done to fidelity.
  • Attends and facilitates all relevant team meetings.
  • Monitors and manages employee and treatment schedules.
  • Oversees the coordination of daily and weekly client schedules.
  • Oversees the coordination of client transportation to external appointments.
  • Assists in liaising with community partners who may have existing therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Assists residents in understanding leasing terms and liaising with the assigned property manager
  • Tracks outcomes and reports outcomes to the executive leadership team.
  • Coordinates and supervises on-call duties for after-hours client support.
  • Manages scheduling of all program staff.
  • Generates monthly reports for immediate supervisor and other organizational leaders.
  • Gives regular feedback to the team members and ensures team members are performing essential job responsibilities.
  • Handles corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • A Master's degree and an active license in the State of Utah as a clinical mental health counselor, social worker, or marriage and family therapist is required.
  • Familiarity with the Assertive Community Treatment model is preferred.
  • Certification as a Designated Examiner in the State of Utah is preferred.
