At First Step House, our Food Services team plays an important role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey by providing nutritious, high-quality meals in a welcoming environment.

Starting Pay: $20.81 per hour

$500 sign-on bonus

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Food Services Cook, you'll help prepare and serve nutritious meals for clients across our programs while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking meals according to established menus
• Completing daily food preparation and kitchen setup
• Cooking banquet- or family-style meals (no individual restaurant orders)
• Following proper food handling, sanitation, and Health Department guidelines
• Opening and closing the kitchen each day
• Washing dishes and maintaining a clean work environment
• Receiving, organizing, and storing food deliveries
• Transporting food to nearby First Step House locations as needed
• Assisting with inventory and maintaining an organized kitchen

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire) (Required)
• Valid driver's license (Required)
• One year of cooking or food service experience (Preferred)
• Experience preparing meals for large groups or institutional settings (Preferred)
